Course Description:
The United States was the first nation to diplomatically recognize the existence of the State of Israel. Harry Truman even referred to himself as “Cyrus,” the historical king who brought the Jewish nation back to the land 2500 years ago. From that time until now, the US has had a unique relationship with the Jewish State. However, that relationship has changed over time and is currently very different than it was years ago. Why has it changed? What does it look like today and what might it look like in the future? This two-part lecture will examine that relationship, the reasons for its existence, and why things are changing.
